Nestled in the beautiful Golden Valley, The Little Cow House is situated in the heart of the village of Dorstone. Popular with all ages, the village is only six miles from the world renound Hay on Wye, (Town of Books) and 15 miles from the Cathedral city of Hereford (Home of the Mappa Mundi)It's a Grade II Listed, 200 year old barn conversion which was formerly an outbuilding to Great House Farm, but in 2003 the farm was sold and divided. The little barn is the annexe to Meadowend Barn and both were beautifully restored by their current owners . Meadowend Barn itself is over 300 years old and until the sale of the properties in 2003 was a Threshing Barn. Both properties stand in 2 acres of land, most of which is available for use by those renting the Cow House. The little barn is very much part of it's owners home and as such there is a very relaxed and laid back family feel to the property. The restoration of the little barn was only completed in the spring of 2007 and all of it's original features have been painstakingly saved, with any new materials being chosen to ensure the integrity of the building was protected. With it's cosy rooms and quirky charm the Cow House is a delight to stay in. To contrast the older shell the interior is modern and chic making it the perfect little gettaway!!
